Τα Game Awards πλέον αποτελούν το πιο πολυαναμενόμενο show του παγκόσμιου gaming, αφού φανς από όλο τον πλανήτη συνδέονται για να παρακολουθήσουν ετησίως πολλά «World Premiers» και ταυτόχρονα να απολαύσουν (ή να εκνευριστούν) με τα τελικά αποτελέσματα κάθε κατηγορίας. Έτσι και φέτος, σε μια ομολογουμένως απίστευτη χρονιά, η οποία γέμισε όλων τα backlogs με πολλαπλούς «τίτλους δεκαετίας», καλούνται να κονταροχτυπηθούν οι καλύτεροι τίτλοι του έτους, στο Peacock Theater του Los Angeles, με τελικό στόχο το πρώτο βραβείο. Φέτος είναι μαθηματικά αδύνατο να φύγουν όλοι ευχαριστημένοι, αφού μόνο το πλήθος των παιχνιδιών αναγκάζει πολλά να μην φτάνουν καν στην υποψηφιότητα.
Σοκάρει επίσης το ρεκόρ των 12 υποψηφιοτήτων του Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, καταλαμβάνοντας τις περισσότερες υποψηφιότητες σε όλη την ιστορία του The Game Awards Show.
